The Electoral College becomes a hot topic of discussion during each presidential election, and arguments for and against the Electoral College are fiercely debated. The National Archives and Records Administration has a helpful description of the Electoral College: “The Electoral College is a process, not a place. The founding fathers established it in the Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens. The Electoral College process consists of the selection of the electors, the meeting of the electors where they vote for President and Vice President, and the counting of the electoral votes by Congress.”

For this Assignment, read the information about the Electoral College located at the National Archives and Records Administration. Then, create a voice-over PowerPoint presentation between 7 to 8 slides that explains the arguments for why the Electoral College is still necessary in our presidential election process. Explore the arguments for abolishing the Electoral College. The presentation should be persuasive and include speaker notes and embedded audio recordings explaining the content presented on each slide.
